Vascular Lab

Champlain Valley Vascular Surgery Vascular LabChamplain Valley Vascular Surgery’s on-site vascular laboratory features the latest diagnostic technology and is fully accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). As one of few labs in New York State accredited in all four areas of vascular testing, we have received outstanding approval for our cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial, peripheral venous, and visceral vascular testing.

Our vascular lab provides a wide variety of modern technologies for non-invasive studies to evaluate arteries and veins. These completely safe and comfortable studies help our physicians learn about blood clots, artery blockages, aneurysms, and other information that may help with diagnosis and treatment of your case. Using color duplex ultrasound, doppler testing, and plethysmography we can accurately diagnose and determine the severity of vascular problems.

Test performed by our staff of vascular technologists include:

  • Extracranial carotid and vertebral examinations for cerebrovascular (Carotid Artery) disease.
  • Doppler testing with or without a treadmill exam to diagnose peripheral arterial disease of the lower extremities.
  • Duplex ultrasound of the upper and lower peripheral arterial circulation.
  • Venous duplex ultrasound to evaluate the venous system for the presence of deep venous thrombosis, varicose veins, or other chronic venous problems.
  • Abdominal duplex ultrasound to diagnose aneurysm, renovascular hypertension, and mesenteric ischemia.
