Welcome to our blog, it’s National Vascular Disease Awareness Month!

Vascular medicine is an exciting, expanding field of medicine, propelled forward by advances in technology that now enable us to treat disease from inside the body using tiny catheters. While traditional surgery is still required for some patients, most vascular problems can now be quickly diagnosed and treated with effective medications and minimally invasive, outpatient therapies.

This blog is our venue to bring the latest and most important information to you. We’ll share new, advanced techniques for treating common vascular problems like artery blockages, varicose veins, peripheral artery disease, aneurysms and more. We’ll talk about ways to reduce your risk of developing vascular disease, and if you already have it, we’ll help you learn how to keep it from getting worse and negatively impacting your life.

Champlain Valley Vascular is the area’s only full-service vascular lab and outpatient treatment center, delivering the same advanced technology and high-quality care offered in major cities and at leading medical centers.

If vascular disease is affecting you or someone you care about, we invite you to subscribe to our blog. As always, we will not share your email with any third parties, and you’ll only hear about our new posts about once per month. The information we share could save your life… or at least make a positive impact on your health and the health of your friends, colleagues and loved ones.

September is National Vascular Disease Awareness Month

During this month, we encourage you to learn about the importance of vascular health, and all the conditions that can affect the arteries and veins within your body.

Spreading awareness of vascular disease is even more important than with some other health conditions. Why? Because vascular disease is one of the most underdiagnosed conditions, compounded by the fact that about half of those with it do not experience any outward symptoms.

Early diagnosis and treatment are the keys to surviving potentially life-threatening vascular conditions such as peripheral artery disease and abdominal aortic aneurysm. If you think you might be at risk, talk to your doctor. There are several non-invasive tests that you can have right here at our center to detect—or rule out—vascular disease.

If you’re not sure if you’re at risk, take our quiz here to find out!
