How does our treatment center compare to a hospital?
When someone has an acute illness requiring urgent care, or if a patient needs surgery, a hospital is the best place to be. In fact, our own Dr. Pabst performs certain open vascular surgery procedures at local hospitals. But for minimally invasive procedures, our outpatient treatment center may provide a welcome alternative to a hospital setting. Here’s why:
First, the patient experience. Not having to navigate the confusing corridors of a hospital and spend endless hours in a waiting room is a blessing for our patients. You are treated with the utmost respect the moment you walk in and you are seen promptly.
Second, quality and safety. We offer the most advanced equipment and clinicians who are highly trained and qualified to perform procedures. Dr. Pabst has more than 25 years of experience in patient care. And unlike a hospital that regularly cares for very sick patients, our outpatient center is much less crowded, resulting in less exposure to diseases and other illnesses.
Third, comfort. Our outpatient center was designed with you in mind. Instead of general anesthesia, our patients receive a mild “twilight sedation” so they can be relaxed during their procedure. Our recovery rooms are comfortable and spacious. And our very high staff-to-patient ratio ensures that you are well cared for before, during and after your procedure.
Fourth, advanced technology. Many of the procedures we perform in our outpatient center are also performed at area hospitals. But because we are a private, physician-owned practice, we can invest in the latest technology faster and more easily than a large hospital could. An excellent example of this is our use of laser atherectomy, a more advanced option capable of effectively treating a wider range of patients than other facilities who do not have this technology.
Fifth, quality and unrushed time with the doctor. Dr. Pabst has structured Champlain Valley Vascular so that he and his clinical staff are able to spend more time with his patients, addressing their questions and concerns and providing a level of care and personalized attention uncommon in healthcare today. As a physician-owned practice, we are not subject to the rapid patient throughput mentality of corporate-owned medical facilities.
In a nutshell, there are five excellent reasons to consider having your minimally invasive vascular procedure at Champlain Valley Vascular instead of at a hospital. But you don’t have to take our word for it. Just listen to what patients are saying about their experience here by visiting our testimonials page.
